Visit the Convent of Christ, former headquarters of the Knight Templar and Unesco World Heritage site.

Visit Coimbra's Old University, one of the oldest University's in Europe steeped in tradition. Saint Anthony of Padua studied here.
Visit the library and the Grand Hall.
Visit the Convento de Santa Clar-a-nova without a roof. This is where Sister Lucia lived as a member of the Carmelite order.
At 6pm there is a 50 minute Fado concert at Fado Centro.
Transfer to Fatima (54 miles).
Possibility to participate in Rosary and candlelight procession.

Day 4:
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning devotional.
Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima
Discover the chapel of the apparations. Pray at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. The basilica has 15 altars that are dedicated to the 15 mysteries of the Rosary. At the center of the shrine is The Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus where people take the holy water of Fatima from taps found under the monument. View the tombs of the three visionary children, Francisco, Janinta and Lucia as well as the village of the shepherds and the places of the apparations.

In 1917, during World War 1, the Virgin Mary appeared to three young children in Fatima revealing to them the power of the Rosary. She also entrusted them with three secrets.
Two of the visionaries, Blessed Jacinta Marto and her brother Blessed Francisco Marto, were beatified by Saint John Paul II in 2000. Their cousin, Sister Lucia de Jesus dos Santos, died in 2005, and three years later Pope Benedict exempted her from the usual five-year waiting period between a death and the start of a beatification cause. Saint John Paul II had a strong devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. After a harrowing assassination attempt in 1981, he credited his mircaulous intervention survival to Our Lady of Fatima. As a sign of his gratitude, he placed the bullet from the failed assassination in her crown. (CNA/EWTN News 12.18.2016)
In 1982, Saint Pope John Paul II commissioned the only artist from the USA represented in the Vatican Gardens to design a 12 foot bronze sculpture of Fatima where he prayed the rosary daily.
Transfer to Santareem where the Church of St Stephen is located to venerate the Miracle of the Eucharist.

Day 5:
Breakfast at hotel. Morning devotional.
Visit Evora, the Cathedral of Sanata Maria de Evora which has a statue of a preganant Mary. The Cathedral Museum features a sparkling reliquary with pieces of the supposed true cross, heavily laden with more than a thousand gems. Visit the Church of Saint Francis and the Bone Chapel.

Transfer to Lisbon (82 miles)

Day 6:
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning devotional.
Panoramic view of the city.
Discover the district of Belem, the historic place of departure of the great portuguese maritime expeditions including that of Vasco da Gama to Idia in 1497.
View from the outside of the beautiful Belem tower built on the banks of the Tagus.
Close by the Belem tower, discover from the outside the Jeronimos monistery. Listed as one of Unesco World Heritage site, this jewel of the 16th century Manueline architecture features an abundance of decorative motifs picturing the great discoveries of this period of time. This is one of the most famous monasteries in the Jeronimos order.
Eucharistic celebration
It is the order of the hermits of Saint Jerome, founded in the 14th century in response to the ambient spiritual decadence. Working in the morning, praying and studying in the afternoon, the monks lived a contemplative life. The monastery was converted into a parish church when all religious orders were expelled from Portugal in 1834. It now houses the naval museum and the archaelogy museum.

Day 7:

Visit the Cathedral of Saint Mary Major built on the site of a former mosque shortly after the conquest of hte city by Alfonso Henriques in 1147. The building underwent many restorations due to earthquakes but kept over the years an aspect of fortified church overlooking the city. You will see a beautiful baptistry which served during the baptism of Saint Anthony in 1195.

Stroll the popular neighborhood of the Alfama, one of the most typical areas of old Lisbon.
Visit the Gulbenkian Museum.

Day 8:
Breakfast and morning devotional at hotel.
Transfer to Sintra (18 miles).
A poet described Sintra as the most blessed spot on the whole inhabited globe and it is designed as a Unesco World Heritage site.
Visit the Palacio da Pena and the Quinta da Regaleira.
